The European Union organizes the annual Europe Day. On this day in 1950, Robert Schuman proposed the creation of an organised Europe, which would be responsible for the maintenance of peaceful relations in Europe. 

Europe Day is a celebration of peace and unity in Europe. Many EU institutions open their doors to the public for the event.
